Proposed Rules

The Ohio Revised Code grants rule-making authority to the Ohio Speech and Hearing Professionals Board (Board) to adopt new rules, review, amend and rescind current rules.  Rules become part of the Ohio Administrative Code, and assist the Board in executing its duty to carry out provisions of the Ohio Revised Code.

Public Comment Period on Proposed Rules
Comments Accepted until July 24, 2020

The following rules have not been filed.  The Board is posting the below listed proposed rules for a period of public comment before filing them with the Common Sense Initiatives Office and subsequently filing with the Joint Committee on Agency Rule Review.  The content of the proposed rules can be accessed by clicking on the rule's hyper-link.  For additional information about the Board's rule-making process, please refer to the above link called: "Guide to Rule Making."

Five Year Rule Review
The following rules under Ohio Administrative Code Chapter (OAC) 4753 are scheduled for five-year year review and being proposed as no-change rules:

4753-4-01 Continuing Education
This rule will be submitted as a no-change rule as part of the Board’s five-year rule review.

4753-12-01 Military Considerations
This rule will be submitted as a change rule, proposing to amend the rule in accordance with the passage of Senate Bill 9 requiring the Board to issue a temporary license to military personnel and spouses who hold a license in another state and are deployed for active duty in Ohio.

This rule is being proposed as a new rule in accordance with the passage of Senate Bill 9 requiring the Board to issue a temporary license to military personnel and spouses who hold a license in another state and are deployed for active duty in Ohio.

Proposed Amended Rules

4753-3-07(B)(4)(b)(iii) and (C)(3)(a) – Supervised Professional Experience
This rule is being proposed as an amended rule to remove a reference to the former passing score of the national examination for speech-language pathology and audiology.  This rule is also being amended to remove a reference to the former Ohio Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.

4753-3-12(A) – Summary Suspension for Human Trafficking Conviction
This rule is being amended to remove a reference to the former Ohio Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.

4753-11-01(E) – Accessing Confidential Personal Information
This rule is being amended to remove a reference to the former Ohio Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.
